Whitefield Academy

ADMISSIONS

Criteria

  1. Parents and students must agree to abide by the policies of Whitefield Academy as affirmed in the Parental Commitment (see Application for Enrollment).

  2. Though not required to be professing Christians, we expect parents to have a clear understanding of Whitefield’s Statement of Faith. Parents agree to cooperate with Whitefield's desire to teach all subjects with academic excellence from a Biblical worldview, which is consistent with that Statement of Faith.

  3. Students seeking admission are evaluated on the basis of their academic performance, character, admission questionnaires, interviews and potential to perform satisfactorily at Whitefield Academy.

  4. We are not equipped with the resources to serve children who are seeking to be admitted to or would require special educational programs.

  5. Students who seek admission following suspension or expulsion from another school will not be accepted until they prove themselves elsewhere.

  6. Students entering seventh grade or above must express a desire to attend Whitefield.

  7. Whitefield’s general academic requirements are a demonstrated proficiency of at least 70% or 2.0 GPA.

  8. Students entering Kindergarten must be five years of age on or before September 1st.

  9. Students entering first grade must be six years of age by September 1st.

  10. All new students are required to complete a student assessment.

  11. The first quarter is considered a trial period for all new students.

  12. The student health requirements applicable to admission are as follows:
    • All students attending Whitefield Academy must have on record with the school either a current and complete Immunization Record or a state exemption before entering school in the fall. Standard immunization record forms may be obtained from your family physician or the school office.

    • Whitefield also requires a completed Health History and Emergency Contact form for each student.

    • Before the school will dispense any medication to a student, we must receive written parental permission. This permission is part of Whitefield’s Standard Consent and Release form which is also required for each student.
Whitefield Academy desires to build a diverse group of intellectually curious students who will contribute to our school. We are dedicated to serving qualified applicants from all segments of the community, regardless of economic, racial or geographic backgrounds. Whitefield Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnic or national origin in the administration of its policies, programs and scholarships. Whitefield reserves the right to select students on the basis of academic performance, religious commitment and personal qualification. Whitefield receives numerous applications each year and we can accommodate only a certain number of students in each class. It is unfortunate that for every student we admit, there may be other qualified candidates to whom we cannot offer admission.

Whitefield offers admission first to returning students and their siblings, then to the public. If enrollment for a particular grade is full, a waiting list will be established for that grade.
